Biographical Information

Mike Muldoon played five seasons in the major leagues, primarily as a third baseman. Earlier, he had been a second baseman in semi-pro ball for the Brocktons.

In 1882 he hit his first major league home run off John Ward. He went on to hit the most homers that year among major league rookies.

It had been long known that Muldoon had been born in Ireland but, the birth date attached to his name turned out to be wrong as the correct information was found by genealogists in 2021. His death place and date remain unknown, however.
