Ireland
Ireland, or more formally the Republic of Ireland (Poblacht na hÉireann), is a country that covers approximately five-sixths of the island of Ireland, off the coast of Europe. The rest of the island constitutes Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom.
Of all the major leaguers were born in Ireland, all were born in the 19th century, with only pitchers Joe Cleary and P.J. Conlon in the 20th century.
Players of Irish origin were extremely numerous in the early days of baseball.
