Biographical Information

Miguel Vargas pitched in the Spanish Division Honor in 2013, going 4-6 with a 3.28 ERA for the Astros Valencia and striking out 91 in 90 2/3 IP. He was 5th in the league with a .198 opponent average (between Leslie Nacar and Jorge Balboa), 8th in innings, 10th in strikeouts and tied for 4th in losses.

In the 2017 Bolivarian Games, he pitched for the Venezuelan national team. He pitched twice. Relieving Carlos Parra in the 6th with a 5-0 lead over El Salvador, he allowed one hit and struck out one in one shutout inning; Josmar Carreño took over. Versus Panama, with a spot in the Gold Medal Game at stake, he relieved Robert Palencia (who had also played in Europe) with a 3-0 deficit in the 7th and allowed two hits while getting two outs then Leovildo Pargas came in; Venezuela lost, 3-0. They wound up with a Bronze.
