Miguel Rizo is a pitcher from Venezuela. He debuted in the minors in 1997 in the Venezuelan Summer League. Miguel played for the Johnson City Cardinals in 1998, going 0-2 with a 11.81 ERA. The least-effective hurler on the staff, he allowed 55 hits and 20 walks in only 26 2/3 IP. He went 0-2. Rizo improved to 2-3, 3.16 with a save for Johnson City in 1999 to conclude his US playing career.
Moving on to play in Spain's Division Honor, Rizo hit .333 in 2004 and fanned over a batter per inning on the mound. In 2006, he went 6-8 with a 2.79 ERA. In 2007, Miguel was 6-3 with a 2.40 ERA. Rizo allowed 4 runs in 3 1/3 IP in the 2007 European Championship but Spain still won a Bronze Medal. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, the right-hander lost to Team USA in a game later declared a forfeit due to Spain's use of ineligible players. Rizo officially finished the event with zero games played.
Rizo was 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA in Spanish league play in 2008.
