Biographical Information

Pitcher Michael Santos was signed by the San Francisco Giants before the 2013 season as an amateur free agent. He began his pro career in the Dominican Summer League with the DSL Giants, going 1-2, 2.75 in 4 starts, then in 2014 moved over to the United States to play for the AZL Giants. There, he went 4-3, 2.56 in 12 starts.

Michael split the 2015 season between the Arizona League and the Augusta GreenJackets of the South Atlantic League, pitching 11 times with a combined record of 0-2, 3.18. He was back at Augusta to begin 2016 and in 10 starts, was 4-2, 2.91. On August 1st, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays along with 3B Matt Duffy and SS Lucius Fox, his teammate with Augusta, in return for P Matt Moore.
