Biographical Information

Pitcher Michael Hensley was selected by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 1985 amateur draft but did not sign, opting to attend the University of Oklahoma instead. He was then taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 1988 amateur draft and went on to play three years in their organization.

Hensley's son Ty Hensley was picked by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2012 amateur draft.
