Biographical Information[edit]

Michael Blatchford played college ball at Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Economics. After graduating, he stayed with the Battling Bishops as their hitting coach for most of 2019. The year proved to be a rather busy one for Blatchford. He served as a part-time assistant coach for the Southern Ohio Copperheads in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. Blatchford also spent the summer months playing professionally for the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the independent American Association.

Blatchford left Ohio Wesleyan in late 2019 for a hitting coach position with the University of Charleston Golden Eagles. He coached at Charleston during the 2021 season while simultaneously finishing his master's degree in Strategic Leadership. Blatchford next joined the DePauw University Tigers in August 2021 and coached there through 2022.

The San Francisco Giants hired Blatchford in 2023 as a hitting coach for the DSL Giants Black. He stayed with this DSL squad through the 2024 season.
