Biographical Information[edit]

Corner infielder Micah Schnurstein was taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 7th round of the 2002 amateur draft and played in their system until 2008. He began his professional career at 17 years old and was, for his first five seasons, 2.5 to 3.5 years younger than the average player in his league.

In his first season, he slashed .332/.373/.512 with 68 hits and 26 doubles in 50 games for the AZL White Sox. He fell off after that, but stole 15 bases in 2004 and hit 15 home runs with 12 steals in 2005. A resurgent Schnurstein hit .274/.349/.508 with 25 home runs, 84 RBI and 36 doubles in 2007, but he fell to .218 in 2008 to end his career. He was a Mid-Season All-Star and a Post-Season All-Star in 2007.

Overall, he slashed .261/.317/.402 with 63 home runs, 341 RBI and 51 stolen bases in 716 games.
