Biographical Information[edit]

Max Perlman has been a minor league pitcher.

Perlman had a 1.21 career ERA in high school and was twice All-County. He had a 5-1, 2.91 record as a freshman at Harvard, leading the team in wins and ERA. He allowed only one run in 3 1/3 IP as a sophomore before an elbow injury ended his season. In 2010, he struggled in his return (1-2, 9.60, .420 opponent average). He rebounded as a senior to go 2-5 with a 1.80 ERA, leading the Ivy League in ERA and making All-League. He was 24th in NCAA Division I in ERA. The Oakland A's, behind scout Marc Sauer, took him in the 35th round of the 2011 amateur draft.

After signing, Max pitched for the AZL Athletics (2-2, 2.76, 44 K in 42 1/3 IP) and Sacramento River Cats (1-0, 2 R in 9 IP). In 2012, he was with the Burlington Bees (1-3, 2 Sv, 3.92 in 20 G) and the Stockton Ports (0-2, 8.18). He was on the Israeli national team roster for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers but did not get into a game.
