Biographical Information[edit]

Mattia Barbaresi has been a pitcher in the Italian Baseball League.

Barbaresi debuted in 2010 for Rimini, with a 5.23 ERA in six games pitched. In the 2010 European Cup, he started against the Hoboken Pioneers and did very well (1 H, 0 R, 6 K in 4 IP) but left too early to get a decision, relieved by Tommaso Cherubini, who got the win instead. In 2011, the right-hander moved to Bologna and had a 3.86 ERA with 9 walks in 14 innings. In the 2011 European Cup, he pitched two shutout innings (2 K, 1 BB, 0 H) in relief against the North Stars Moscow. In 2012, he was 0-2 with a 4.58 ERA for Bologna in the IBL season. In the 2012 European Cup, he struck out six in three innings but gave up two runs, both to Hoboken. Bologna won the Cup. He teamed with Junior Oberto in a 9-2 win over the Bern Cardinals in the 2013 European Cup, allowing two runs and fanning six in six innings to get the win.
