Biographical Information[edit]
Tommaso Cherubini has pitched in the Italian Baseball League. His father Paolo Cherubini starred in Italy and his mother Monica Corvino pitched for the Italian women's softball team and later was their pitching coach.
Tommaso pitched for Italy in the 2008 World Junior Championship, including a win over Russia. He debuted in Italy's top level with Rimini in 2009, tossing two shutout innings but walking four. In 2010, he walked five and allowed five hits in 4 1/3 IP but again did not give up a run. He pitched four innings in the 2010 European Cup, saving a 4-3 win over DOOR Neptunus. In '11, he was 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA, walking 10 and fanning 15 in 11 innings. During 2012, he had a 0-1, 6.00 record, striking out 13 in 12 IP. Cherubini turned in 5 1/3 shutout innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out four, in a relief outing and win against the Paderborn Untouchables in the 2013 European Cup.
