Biographical Information[edit]
Matthias Hebig was a 11-time Bundesliga champion with his hometown Mannheim Tornados, known for his defensive work in left field especially; his career lasted until 1998. He was with Germany in the 1979 European Junior Championship and played for the German national team in the 1980s. In the 1984 European B-Level Championship, he was 0 for 10 with a run. He went 1 for 2 with a walk, steal and two runs in the 1986 European B-Level Championship, which the Germans won.
Hebig went 2 for 9 with a run in the 1987 European Championship. In the 1989 European Championship, he was 0 for 3.
