Biographical Information[edit]

Matt Rigoli made his pro debut in 2008. His father Joe Rigoli was a coach for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Rigoli was picked in the 42nd round of the 2004 amateur draft by the St. Louis Cardinals out of high school, but he opted for college. In 2007, he hit .264 for Pace University as a junior. In his senior season, he batted .295/.355/.355. The Cardinals drafted Rigoli in the 21st round of the 2008 amateur draft. He played for the Johnson City Cardinals that season, hitting .205/.343/.337 in 32 games as an infielder. He made 6 errors in 11 games at third, fielding only .647, and also played 9 games at both first base and DH.
