Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Matt Kavanaugh played Independent Leagues in the Golden Baseball League, North American League and Pacific Association from 2008-2014.

Concord, CA native attended De La Salle High School, the University of the Pacific, Butte Junior College and San Francisco State University. Kavanaugh played for the Gators from 2006 to 2008 where he played in 111 games. Over his three seasons, he held a .332 career batting average with 132 hits with 16 home runs, 34 doubles and two triples. He also drove in 90 runs and scored 77 times. The two -time All-CCAA selection also stole 19 bases.

In 2015, the San Rafael Pacifics announced that Kavanaugh would be the manager of the San Rafael Pacifics. Over his four years with the Pacifics, Kavanaugh would win two championships.
