Biographical Information[edit]

Martin Morua played for the Hungarian national team, following in the footsteps of father Roberto Morua. [1]

In the 2023 European Championship, the 16-year-old was Hungary's youngest player; Bálint Piros was next, about a year older. Morua was not a bench warmer, either. He started in center and batted second in their opener versus Italy. He grounded out against Matteo Bocchi his first time up but added a single off Mattia Aldegheri later in the game. He hit .294/.294/.529 with two triples in five games and also pitched one game (2 R in 4 2/3 IP versus Austria, their top hurler that day. He tied Jeff Pruitt, Leonel Sosa and Philip Smith for the tourney lead in three-baggers. [2]
