Biographical Information[edit]

Martin Dudley was a minor league catcher and manager in the Deadball Era.

He hit .151 for the 1908 Vicksburg Hill Climbers. He split 1910 between the Augusta Tourists (.199 in 50 G) and Yazoo City Zoos (.228 in 56 G). He hit .276 and slugged .337 as the main backstop for the 1911 Zoos. In 1912, he was player-manager for the Greenwood Scouts and was also with New Orleans/Yazoo City. He hit .252 for the 1913 Thomasville Hornets and also managed part of the year. In 1914, he hit .219 and slugged .278 as the Thomasville player-manager. He played in 1915 for Augusta (.250 in 12 G) and the Charlotte Hornets (.168/?/.235 in 38 G), also managing for both clubs. He was 3 for 18 for the 1916 Hornets, and also managed them to the North Carolina State League title. He guided the Tri-Cities Triplets in 1917.
