Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Servais is the brother of college coach Ed Servais and the uncle of former major leaguer Scott Servais.
Mark was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 19th round of the 1971 amateur draft but did not sign. The San Diego Padres took him in the second round of the January 1972 draft. He went 15 for 46 with three doubles, two triples, a home run and 18 walks for the 1972 Tri-City Padres and fielded .921 as a backup second baseman. Despite his superb debut (and having a better OPS than teammate Jerry Turner, who dominated the 1972 Northwest League). He signed for the Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros and the Chicago Cubs for over 30 years, signing Michael Wuertz and others.
