Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Mark Pawelek was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the first round of the 2005 amateur draft.

He was signed by scout John Bartsch and made his pro debut that summer with the AZL Cubs, where he went 0-3 with a 2.72 ERA in 14 games before being promoted to the Boise Hawks for one start late in the season. He returned to the Hawks in 2006 and posted a 3-5 record and a 2.51 ERA in 15 games with the club.
