Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Machtolf played college baseball and football at Stanford University and played in the 1987 College World Series.
Machtolf was an assistant coach at Gonzaga University in 1988-1990 and Whitworth College in 1991. He was head coach at Gonzaga Preparatory School in 1992-1995 before returning to Gonzaga as assistant coach in 1996. Machtolf became head coach of Gonzaga in 2004. He was 450-363-2 through 2018 and won three West Coast Conference Coach of the Year awards. He coached for the US when they won the 2006 World University Championship.
