Biographical Information[edit]
Mark Esser was with the Chicago White Sox in 1979. The previous year he had pitched for the 1978 Appleton Foxes who went 97-40. Esser had a record of 9-2 with 7 saves. His fellow pitchers on that team included LaMarr Hoyt, Britt Burns and Ross Baumgarten. Harry Chappas led the Foxes in batting average, triples and stolen bases.
After his major league days he pitched again for Appleton as well as for the Glens Falls White Sox.
