Biographical Information[edit]

Mark Ciardi was signed as a 15th round pick in the 1983 amateur draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and scouting supervisor Walter Youse. His big league career was quick and to the point, pitching four games in April 1987, going 1-1 with a 9.37 ERA in 16 1/3 innings.

After baseball, Ciardi had a much more lucrative career in Hollywood. He made his debut as a producer with The Rookie, the 2002 movie about high school coach-turned-big league reliever Jim Morris. He has since produced several hit films, including Miracle, The Game Plan, Tooth Fairy and Invincible. Mark also played a bit part in Fever Pitch and cast himself as "Tim Stewart" in The Rookie. His real name appears in a newspaper article taken off of a cork board by Morris in the scene following the high school District Championship game about half way through the movie. The article appears to be fake as it paints Ciardi as a playboy off the field.
