Mario Flores pitched for the Salvadoran national team.
He was in the 1972 Amateur World Series. In the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games, he got El Salvador's only win, beating the US Virgin Islands but losing to Cuba and the Dominican Republic. He allowed 19 hits, 15 walks and 17 runs (14 earned) in 11 innings while striking out four. He was still in the middle of the staff in terms of ERA. He remained with El Salvador for the 1975 Pan American Games. He was still playing in the 1990 Central American Games, when the Salvadoran squad won Gold in baseball for the only time in the Central American Games (through 2018).
