Biographical Information

Marek Drabinski has been a minor league catcher and college coach.

Drabinski was All-Big East Conference in 1988 and UConn team MVP and captain in 1990. Undrafted, he signed with the Atlanta Braves. He started at catcher for the 1990 Idaho Falls Braves, hitting .265/.360/.305 and fielding .975. He led Pioneer League backstops in putouts (304), errors (9) and passed balls (11) and tied Doug Noce for the most assists (42). Backing up Tyler Houston with the 1991 Macon Braves, he batted .167/.252/.216. He finished his pro career with a batting line of .225/.317/.269 in 97 games, with 32 runs, 18 RBI, 33 walks and no home runs. He fielded .977 in 83 games at catcher, with 20 passed balls.

Drabinski was an assistant at UConn from 1994-1996 then became head coach of Brown University. He set school records for wins in 2002 (25) and 2007 (27). He led the team to the Ivy League title in 2007. He resigned during the 2014 season.
