Biographical Information[edit]

Luther Farrell was a pitcher and outfielder for a number of Negro Leagues teams between 1919 and 1934. He pitched under the name "Lefty" Luther in the early part of his career. He was only a moderately good pitcher, though he did throw a seven-inning no-hitter in the 1927 Colored World Series for the Bacharach Giants, beating the Chicago American Giants. He also proved to be a decent power hitter, and played outfield during and after his pitching days. He was the brother-in-law of John Taylor.
