Lukas Croton
- Bats Right, Throws Right
Lukas Croton has been a star pitcher for the Therwil Flyers in Switzerland. He was 2-1 with a 4.96 ERA as a rookie in 2007, 3-1 with a 6.83 ERA in 2008, 5-0 with 3 saves and a 1.81 ERA in 2009 at age 18 and 6-2 with a save and a 1.89 ERA in 2010.
In the 2011 European Championship Qualifiers, he had a 1-1, 2.25 record for the Swiss national team. He beat Ireland then lost in the final round to Spain. Facing a highly-favored host club with at least four former minor leaguers, Croton tossed no-hit ball for five innings and Switzerland held a stunning 2-0 edge. In the 6th, Croton's defense had a crucial error then Danny Figueroa singled. With two outs, Croton walked Marc Carrillo and allowed a 2-run single to José Luis Riera. The next inning, he allowed a double to Yancarlo Franco, who scored on a sac fly by Néstor Pérez after another error. Croton wound up with the tough-luck, 3-2 loss.
