Biographical Information[edit]

Marc Carrillo played for the Spanish national team from 2005-2011.

Carrillo hit .353/.430/.387 for CB Sant Boi in 2004 and fielded .855 at shortstop. He was 1 for 9 with 3 walks and 2 times hit-by-pitch in the 2005 European Championship, backing up Jose Luis Riera at 1B for the Bronze Medalists. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he was 2 for 19 with a triple and 10 strikeouts for Spain; he fielded .974 in 5 games at first base and DH'ed twice. In 2006, he batted .326/.432/.522 for Sant Boi. In '07, he hit .367 for Sant Boi but fielded just .875 at third base. He hit .273/.333/.435 in the 2007 European Championship as Spain won a Silver Medal. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, Carrillo batted .316/.350/.421 as one of Spain's top threats, but he only fielded .857 at the hot corner.

During the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, Marc was 3 for 20 with a walk and 7 strikeouts but made no errors at third base. In the 2008 Division Honor season, the Sant Boi regular hit .348/.424/.487 and was 8-for-11 in steal attempts. He was 7th in the league in average.
