Biographical Information[edit]

Luis Pérez has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

He was signed by the San Diego Padres in February 2015. [1] He was 2-1 with four saves and a 2.33 ERA for the DSL Padres that summer, albeit with a 1.59 WHIP. He was let go and the Baltimore Orioles signed him the next year. He was 1-2 with 6 saves and a 2.40 ERA for the 2016 DSL Orioles 1, cutting his WHIP to 1.11.

Luis came stateside in 2017, going 2-2 with a 3.61 ERA for the GCL Orioles, pitching both as a starter in relief. His WHIP was down to .95. In '18, he pitched for the Aberdeen IronBirds (1-0, 0.56 in 3 G) and Delmarva Shorebirds (5-3, 3.34 in 10 G), with a .89 WHIP and .181 opponent average. In 2019, he went 6-2 with three saves and a 2.93 ERA for the Frederick Keys.

He then was with the Dominican Republic for the 2019 Premier 12. He pitched one game, relieving Enny Romero with a 4-1 deficit, one on and one out in the 5th against Mexico. He retired Esteban Quiroz and José Vargas. In the 6th, he allowed back-to-back dingers to Efren Navarro and Matt Clark then struck out Alí Solís and got Javier Salazar on a grounder before rain ended the game. [2]
