Long Shi was a pitcher on China's roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup but he did not get into a game in the event. He had been with them for the 1997 Asian Championship as well. He was 0-1 in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, allowing 11 hits and 6 runs in 2 1/3 IP for China's worst ERA; Jiangang Lu was next at 10.80 to his 23.14. He lost to Pedro Ruiz and the Dominican national team.
