Biographical Information[edit]
Lisa Bergwerff pitched for the Dutch women's national team.
In the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, she made her debut against Team USA. She began by retiring Brittany Gomez but then walked Jade Gortarez, gave up a single to Malaika Underwood and hit AJ Hamilton and Kelsie Whitmore to force in a run. She would not make it through the inning, giving up a three-run double to Amanda Gianelloni as part of a seven-run frame (3 H, 3 BB, 2 HB), retiring two before Berber Jansen relieved. She took the loss to Brittany Schutte. She fared somewhat better in a start versus Taiwan, lasting two innings (3 H, 3 BB, 6 R, 2 ER) and fanning one (Chi Tseng) before Merle Langevoord relieved. She tied for second in the Cup in losses, one behind Ching-Wen Hu and Marlenny Quero. While she was hit hard, eight pitchers had higher ERAs in the Cup, including teammates Maaike Haak and Maria van Veen.
