Lincoln Greenbackers

From BR Bullpen

In 1908 the Lincoln Tree Planters of the Western League were renamed the Lincoln Greenbackers. The team went 74-73, third in the six-team circuit but they fell to 61-89 in their second season and in 1910 took on the name Lincoln Railsplitters. The team returned to the Greenbackers name in 1913, when the club went 87-90, 4th in the Western League, which now had eight teams. McCormick, presumably Moose McCormick, was tied for third in the league with 15 homers, second with 19 triples and third with 304 total bases. They changed names again in 1914, becoming the Lincoln Tigers.
