Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Lincoln Boyd spent five seasons in the minor leagues, playing from 1952 to 1956. He began his career in the Mexican League, hitting .195/.300/.341 for the Aguila de Veracruz before moving to the Leesburg Lakers in 1953. He joined the high-offense West Texas-New Mexico League in 1954, batting .315 with 30 home runs and 138 hits in 130 games for the Clovis Pioneers, with whom he'd spend the rest of his career. In 1955, he slashed .340/.447/.678 with 44 home runs, 157 RBI and 170 hits in 137 games to lead the league in home runs and RBI. Now playing in the Southwestern League, he hit .302/.417/.608 with 21 home runs and 69 RBI in 71 games in 1956 to wrap up his career. He hit 108 home runs in his career. Fielding was his weakness, as he committed 24 errors for a .920 fielding percentage in 1955.
