Li-Wei Kuo had a brief career in the CPBL.
Kuo represented Taiwan in the 2015 U-18 Baseball World Cup, allowing only one unearned run in eight innings. He was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 6th round of the 2015 CPBL Draft, and he went 4-9 with a 8.39 ERA in the minors in 2016. He led the minors in losses, starts, strikeouts and complete games, but he also set the CPBL minor league record by walking 72 in a season. Kuo's ERA was 10.38 in 4 games in 2017, then he had a 7.04 ERA in 17 games in 2018. He improved to a 3.95 ERA in 12 games in 2019, and he made his CPBL debut on October 3. However, Kuo-Chen Fan crushed a homer in his first pitch, and Kuo was the first local pitcher to surrender a homer on his first pitch. He was released after the 2019 season, and his professional career ended.
