Leyte Gulf
The Leyte Gulf is located in the Philippines as an inlet of the Pacific Ocean located between the island groups of Visayas and Mindanao. In October of 1944, it was the site of one of the largest naval battles in history during World War II, opposing vessels form the United States Navy and the Japanese Navy. Seizaburo Amakawa died in the battle.
