Biographical Information[edit]
Playing on the winning team in the 1938 summer Koshien tournament, pitcher Seizaburo Amakawa began his professional career at age 20 with the 1939 Nankai club. He was 1-3 that year with a 2.12 ERA, then the next season was 2-5 with a 2.57 ERA to finish his career at 3-8, 2.38. Four years later, he was killed in combat in World War II in the Philippines.
