Biographical Information[edit]
Levi Romero pitched in the lower levels of the Houston Astros minor league system from 2003-2006. He subsequently pitched at three different levels in the Texas Rangers minor league system in 2008. Over five minor league seasons Romero had a 15-9 record with 4.10 ERA while appearing in 56 games split between starting and relieving. His pitching career continued in Japan where he pitched from 2009-2012, primarily for the Yomiuri Giants and the Softbank Hawks, both at the top level and with their ni-gun affiliates.
Romero joined the Tampa Bay Rays organization as a pitching coach for the DSL Rays 2 in 2018 and he stayed in that role through the 2021 season. In 2022 the Rays promoted him to the FCL Rays where he worked as one of four pitching coaches. Romero was pitching coach of the Charleston RiverDogs in 2023-2024.
