Biographical Information[edit]
Leon Carlson pitched three games for the Washington Senators in 1920. According to an article in the July 12, 1920 Washington Star, he is the (unknown) Carlson who pitched for the 1920 Little Rock Travelers.
An article [1] states that Carlson became the "head man at Laco Roofing" in Jamestown, NY after baseball. He struck out Babe Ruth the first time he faced him and then Ruth hit a home run the second time. In fact, Leon pitched well against the New York Yankees in his debut on May 31st, and then gave up a home run to Ruth on June 2nd after Ruth had already hit one off Tom Zachary, the starter. Leon pitched six innings that day.
