Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Leo Rivas was originally signed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as an international amateur free agent on July 11, 2014. He played in the Angels system until 2019, sat out the 2020 season when the minor leagues were shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic, then was traded to the Cincinnati Reds that December. He played in the Reds system in 2021 and 2022, making it to AAA the second year, then was signed by the Seattle Mariners before the 2023 season.
He reached the majors with the Mariners on April 28, 2024, starting at shortstop and batting ninth against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He went 1 for 2 with a run scored before being replaced by C Cal Raleigh as part of multiple substitutions in the 7th inning.
