Biographical Information[edit]
Leo Murphy played for the 1915 Pittsburgh Pirates, backing up regular catcher George Gibson. Bobby Schang was also a backup catcher but was traded in August. Murphy, at age 26, was a year younger than teammate Max Carey.
He managed the Racine Belles from 1945 through 1949 and the Peoria Redwings in 1950 .
