Biographical Information[edit]
Kyoung-hoon Choi pitched in the KBO for 2 years.
Choi was drafted by the OB Bears in the first round of the 1997 KBO draft, and he decided to go to college first. He represented South Korea in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, allowing three runs (two earned) in five innings. Choi joined the Bears in 2001, and he went 2-2 with a 5.46 ERA in his first season. His ERA was 2.25 in 8 games in 2002, and he stayed in the minors until the Bears released him after the 2005 season. He was the pitching coach of the Sangmu Phoenix from 2006 to 2014, and he was an assistant pitching coach for the LG Twins from 2015 to 2018. Choi served as pitching coach for Sehyun High School in 2019, and he returned to the Phoenix in 2020.
Overall, Choi was 2-2 with a 4.78 ERA, struck out 25 and pitched 37 2/3 innings in 2 seasons in the KBO.
