Biographical Information[edit]

The son of big league shortstop Craig Reynolds, infielder Kyle Reynolds was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 50th round of the 2002 amateur draft but did not sign, instead attending Baylor University. He was then chosen by the Chicago Cubs in the sixth round of the 2005 amateur draft. He played with the Boise Hawks that summer and hit .256 with 5 home runs and 24 RBIs in 52 games. With the Peoria Chiefs the next year, he went 4-for-4 during his first game with the team on April 22nd and hit .230 with 9 homers and 38 RBIs in 99 games overall.

Reynolds began 2007 with the Daytona Cubs, hitting .282 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI in 74 games before being promoted to the Tennessee Smokies in late July. With the Smokies, he hit .281 with 9 homers and 35 RBIs in 35 games. He returned to Tennessee to start the 2008 campaign.
