Biographical Information[edit]

Kyeong-chan Moon has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.

Moon was 1-0 with a 4.82 ERA for South Korea in the 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup. [1] The KIA Tigers took him in the 2nd round of the 2015 KBO draft after they took Dae-in Hwang in the first round. [2] He was 1-3 with a 9.76 ERA and 44 hits in 27 2/3 IP in a rough debut season in 2015.

He spent 2016-2017 with the Sangmu Phoenix military team to fulfill his mandatory military service. He returned to the KBO in '18, going 0-3 with a 4.72 ERA. By 2019, he had established himself as a strong closer for the Tigers (1-2, 1.31 ERA, 1.00 WHIP). He was 5th in the KBO in saves, between Woo-ram Jung and Sang-woo Cho.

He then made South Korea's team for the 2019 Premier 12, when they finished second. His first appearance came in a big loss to Taiwan, relieving Deok-ju Ham in the 9th with a 6-0 deficit. He struck out Chih-Chieh Su, walked Che-Hsuan Lin and got Po-Jung Wang to fly out, but Hung-Yu Lin singled in a run before Chun-Hsiu Chen hit into an inning-ending force. His other outing came against tournament champion Japan. Replacing Woo-suk Go in the 8th with a 10-8 deficit, he went 1-2-3 against Nobuhiro Matsuda, Seiji Kobayashi (a K) and Shuta Tonosaki. [3]
