Biographical Information[edit]

Kwang-hyun Kim played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 6 years.

Kim played for South Korea in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup and 1991 Asian Championship. He batted .136/.240/.182 with 3 runs and 2 RBI in 7 games in the 1991 Cup, being used only as a DH. The OB Bears selected him in the second round of the 1994 KBO draft, and he hit .328/.403/.453 in 28 games in his first season. Kim then went 3-for-17 in 1995, and he only played 20 games combined in the next two seasons. The Bears then traded him to the Samsung Lions for 50 million won, and he went 2-for-18 in 1998. Kim led the minors in RBI in 1999, but he only got 4 appearances with the big club. The Lions then traded him to the SK Wyverns for Gye-sung Lee, but he stayed in the minors for the entire 2000 season. He announced his retirement after that season.

Overall, Kim hit .236/.307//.354 with 30 hits in 6 seasons in the KBO.
