Biographical Information

Kosuke Baba has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Baba was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers and Softbank Hawks in the first round of the 2017 NPB draft after they both lost lotteries for Kotaro Kiyomiya and Hisanori Yasuda with their first two tries; the Tigers won the lottery for the right to him, and the scout was Minoru Kasai. Baba only pitched 4 games combined with the big club in his first 2 seasons, then he had a solid 2.08 ERA in 32 appearances with 9 holds in 2020. He extended his solid performance in 2021, and he recorded a 3.80 ERA in 44 games with 10 holds. However, Baba's ERA rose to 5.14 in 7 games in 2022, and he pitched 19 games with a 2.45 ERA in 2023. The Yomiuri Giants picked him in the 2023 NPB Active draft, but he only pitched one game for their big club in 2024.
