Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Kosaburo Matsumoto played for Hankyu in Nippon Professional Baseball in 1936, 1941 and 1942. He slashed .083/.214/.083 with two walks in 15 plate appearances in the spring 1936 season (backing up Shingo Kuramoto in the first season of pro ball in Japan) then was 0 for 3 with 3 walks and two runs in the fall season. In 1941, he hit .333/.385/.583 with one home run and five RBI in 12 at-bats and in 1942, he was hitless in two at-bats. Overall, he hit .172/.314/.276 in 29 at-bats.
