Biographical Information

Konstanti Athanasiou was on the Greek national team in the 2014 European Championship. The teenager's debut was very brief. Replacing Georgios Pipergias in left with a 12-3 deficit in the 9th against Spain, he was in the field for one play (Daniel Martinez doubled to left) before being succeeded by Theon Bourdaniotis. He also played very briefly in a loss to the champion Dutch national team. Starting in left and leading off, he struck out against former minor leaguer Mike Bolsenbroek (who wound up with a no-hitter) and was replaced by Konstantinos Davlos in the bottom of the inning.
