Kevin van Veen debuted in the Hoofdklasse in 2010 as a pitcher for DOOR Neptunus. In his first game, April 18, he tossed a scoreless relief inning after replacing a fellow Kevin, Kevin Heijstek, against the Konica Minolta Pioniers. For the season, he only worked three innings with one hit, three walks, two unearned runs and one strikeout. He did not appear in the 2010 European Cup. In the 2011 European Cup, he started against the Rouen Huskies and shut them out for five innings on four walks, four hits and five whiffs before Leon Boyd wrapped up the whitewash.
