Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kevin Morton was a starter with the Boston Red Sox in 1991, going 6-5 during the second half of the season. He made his major league debut when he was 22.

Morton was born in Norwalk, CT and attended Seton Hall University when Craig Biggio, Mo Vaughn and John Valentin were there. He was signed as a supplemental 1st round pick in the 1989 amateur draft (29th overall) by the Boston Red Sox and scout Matt Sczesny.

Kevin pitched seven seasons in the minors, starting out with an ERA of 2.08 for three teams in 1989. In 1991 he had a record of 7-3 for the Pawtucket Red Sox and made his major league debut in July. After pitching in the Boston organization through 1992, he was with the organizations of the Kansas City Royals in 1993, the New York Mets in 1994 and the Chicago Cubs in 1995.
