Biographical Information[edit]

Kevin McClatchy headed the group that purchased the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1996. Determined to keep the club in Pittsburgh, he oversaw the construction of PNC Park. His family founded the Sacramento Bee and owns several other newspapers.

Bob Nutting replaced him as principal owner after 10 years of McClatchy being the organization's front man. In July of 2007, he stepped down as CEO of the Pirates.
