Kermit Smith
Kermit Smith became head coach of Belmont Abbey College in 2002; at age 23, he was the youngest head coach in American college baseball. He led the team to an appearance in the 2009 Division II College World Series. He moved to Lander University in 2010. He guided that team to spots in the 2014 Division II College World Series and 2016 Division II College World Series, going 244-134 and setting a school record for wins. He was hired by Appalachian State University as their new head coach starting with the 2017 season.
