Biographical Information[edit]
Ken Onuki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Onuki was signed by the Tokyo Senators when they were founded in 1936, and he hit .172/.415/.241 in spring. His batting line was .169/.422/.268 in fall season, and he led the JPBL with 31 walks. Onuki then hit .200/.316/.246 in the spring season in 1937, and he recorded a .207/.355/.264 batting line in fall. Onuki jumped to the Eagles club in 1938, but he still struggled at the plate. He batted .109/.212/.174 in spring and .172/.264/.297 in fall. Onuki announced his retirement after the 1938 season. He was also an umpire for the Pacific League from 1950 to 1957.
Overall, Onuki hit .180/.335/.253 with 77 hits in 3 years in NPB.
